“Yesterday” by the Beatles became the best song of the century

Financial portal 24/7 Wall Street has published the top 100 best songs of all time. The analysis took into account a number of criteria, such as getting the composition to the Billboard hit parade, the number of covers released and its popularity among music lovers.

According to the results of that analysis the best song of all time is “Yesterday”, which was written and released in 1965 by the legendary Liverpool The Beatles. Since its release, the composition has been covered 665 times, and it has remained for 11 weeks on the charts Billboard Hot 100.

The song was written by Paul McCartney and it was included in the Help record, while in Europe, and in America it came out as a single.

The second place was taken by the song “Bridge Over Troubled Water”, sung by a duet of Simon & Garfunkel in 1970. This song has got 400 covers, and it has been on the Billboard Hot 100 charts for 14 weeks.

An honorable third place was taken by Adele with the song “Rolling In the Deep”, released nine years ago. It has got 84 covers, and it remained on the chart for the record 65 weeks.
